Wave basins
TRL+ offers unique facilities for reduced to medium scale experimental testing of offshore structures and operations under waves, currents and wind action.
The most relevant facility is the Cantabria Coastal and Ocean Basin (CCOB), which is 44 meters wide, 30 meters long and 4 meters deep. It is capable of generating multidirectional waves, omnidirectional currents and wind. It has an active absorption system implemented. CCOB is a facility designed for coastal and offshore engineering problems.
The Directional Wave Tank (TOD) is 28 meters long, 8.6 meters wide and 1.2 meters high. It has a wave generation system composed of 10 wave paddles and capable of generating multidirectional waves. It has a three-dimensional active absorption system implemented.
